Recent Bloom Graduates

Avanti offers the Bloom graduate program together with our sister companies within the Newground Alliance. This program is designed for recent graduates to develop into successful management consultants, with a particular focus on the financial services sector.

What made you apply to the Bloom program,
and why did you choose Avanti?

When I finished my studies, I was looking for a steep learning curve and real responsibility. That’s why I sought out a smaller consulting firm, where I’ve now had the opportunity to work in small, tight-knit teams that move quickly, and where I get to be involved all the way from planning to actually implementing changes with the client. Moreover, Avanti’s focus on the financial sector means that I get to take on complex challenges and, at the same time, help simplify them.

The fact that the Bloom program spans two years was another reason I applied to Newground Alliance. It felt like having one foot still in the comfort of student role while stepping into the unknown of professional life. The program allowed us to take on real client projects from day one while receiving structured training and coaching, which sounded like the perfect combination.

What have your two years in Bloom been like, what have you experienced and learned?

The first year involved lots of fun time with Bloom and training sessions in various topics and formats, which I could immediately apply in the client projects I worked on at Avanti. You’re given the opportunity to own your deliveries to clients while also feeling that you’re contributing something valuable that others truly appreciate. Numerous social activities with both Bloom and Avanti made work not just feel like work, but like a fun everyday life, it made going into the office enjoyable. The final year flew by with great activities, a few more training sessions, but mainly with our final project that took place over the last six months.

How has the collaboration within Newground Alliance impacted your experience of the program?

Being part of a larger alliance has broadened my view of what a consulting career can look like. Through joint case work and reflection sessions with Bloom participants from other companies in NGA, I’ve been able to exchange perspectives with colleagues focused on industries other than financial services. The ability to bounce ideas and challenges off of peers who are also new to the working world has helped me grow even more as a consultant.

Your best advice for someone considering applying to Bloom through Avanti?

Be curious and eager to learn! As a new and young consultant, I’ve realized that challenging projects and areas of responsibility are key to driving my own improvement and growth. Bloom gives you the chance to develop quickly, but it requires you to take ownership of your own development. So, if you’re curious, enjoy challenging tasks and situations, and want colleagues who are social, driven, and inspiring, then the Bloom program and Avanti are the perfect fit! Here, you get the opportunity to grow both as an individual and as a consultant, together with amazing colleagues!
